Welcome to the Sully County Extension page. Extension is the major educational outreach arm of South Dakota State University, serving the people of South Dakota by helping them apply unbiased, scientific knowledge to improve their lives.
Continuing partnerships with county, state, and federal governments are made possible by the land-grant mandate that empowers Extension to offer educational information, programs, and services in response to local issues and needs.

In order to enhance the educational process, counties have been clustered into Field Educational Units (FEU). This allows educators to develop expertise and serve the total unit. Our FEU unit is the Central 2 and consists of these counties:
-
Sully County - Terry Hall, Agronomist
-
Hughes County - Ruth Beck, Agronomist & Jane Hansen, Youth Development / 4 - H
-
Potter County - Ken Wonnenberg, Livestock
-
Hyde County - Andrea Klein, Youth Development / 4-H
-
Faulk County - Karen Slunicka, Family & Consumer Science
Agronomy educators are the direct paths for producers to gain the latest unbiased scientific information from the land-grant university system. Our Extension agronomy educators must be equipped with current knowledge and technology to meet the challenges facing crop and forage producers in South Dakota. Plant Science specialists have identified key outcomes that are to be accomplished with the two-year training program outline in the Vision document.
